REVIEW: (Bioré FREE YOUR PORES! Line) Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser

Did the name catch your attention as much it caught mine? Charcoal? Huh? Well… charcoal has to be the best thing that has happened to my skin since… well… forever. Image

I picked up this amazing product at my local drugstore ($6.99 at Walgreens) while looking for the rest of the Free Your Pores! line. Bioré hit the jackpot with this facial cleanser and I recommend that you all run straight to your local CVS, Target, Walgreens, or another store and grab it right away!

At first I was a little confused… I knew that charcoal was, but how would it clean my face? The back of the bottle says:

“Charcoal, a common ingredient found in nature, is known for its ability to draw out impurities and trap them.”

ITS TRUE! This cleanser does just that.

When I applied it for the first time, I noticed it felt goopy, but a good goopy. When I put it on my face it tingled, but a nice tingle. And when I washed it off my face felt smooth, the smooth I’ve been looking for.

My face has been so much cleaner since using this product and have noticed less breakouts. You can really feel the freshness that this product gives your skin.

I decided to put this product to the test and brought it to a sleepover where a few of my non-blogger friends tired it out. At first, they questioned it just as I did, but were intrigued. After hearing “Oh my gosh, I love this!” I knew I had to quote them in my blog for all of you!

My friends said, and I quote, “It makes my face feel so cool and clean. Love it!” “It makes your skin feel very clean. Is effective after just the first try!” “Very refreshing and feels like your skin is being rejuvenated.”

I am so glad I picked up this gem of a product and one of my friends even bought it after trying it!

5 Stars, I’m obsesssssssssssed!

REVIEW: (Bioré FREE YOUR PORES! Line) Pore Unclogging Scrub

After finding a coupon for the new Free Your Pores! line by Bioré in my recent Seventeen magazine, I ran to the store right away to pick up a few of the products. This week, I will do reviews focusing on all different types of facial cleaners featuring the new products by Bioré.Image

Everyone has used a micro-scrub with the little dissolving balls (am I right?). Bioré calls theirs the Pore Unclogging Scrub ($6.49 at Walgreens). While I typically like these scrubs, I’m somewhat over them. Every brand has the same one and while they work for a little while, they usually stop after a few weeks. I have yet to reach the point where it stops working with this product, but I foresee it happening.

Bioré has done nothing different with this product and to be honest, I am positive that they are selling their same-old formula but in a redesigned bottle and in the Free Your Pores! line… which is kind of lame.Image

It does have a nice smell and you can definitely tell that your face is clean after use, but I’m not impressed with this product.

The Pore Unclogging Scrub gets 2 stars.

BEAUTY TIP: To keep your skin from adapting to your cleansers (like I stated above), buy two different cleansers and use one when you wash your face in the morning and one when you wash your face at night. You’ll be able to get the most out of your products without wasting money every time you realize they don’t work as they did when you first bought them.

Do you have any products that you want to see in a tutorial or reviewed before you buy them??? COMMENT BELOW!

Thank you so much to everyone that has followed me this past weekend. As promised, more posts are to come! Look out for the rest of the Free Your Pores! reviews (the next two products are my favorite!)

HAUL: Maybelline and Wet n Wild

Shopping for makeup products has to be my favorite part about makeup. I, for one, have to look, touch, and read everything and a quick trip to my local drugstore turns into an hour and a half shopping spree. I picked up a few things I’ve never tried before which is really exciting! Image

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Fresh Pink ($7.79 at Walgreens). I am so so so excited to try this product. I may be a little late on the bandwagon, but I am so glad I finally bought it. Blush isn’t something I usually go for while shopping because I have so many, but I’m hoping that this product is as great as everyone hypes it up to be.

Maybelline ColorSensational Color Elixir Lip Color in Breathtaking Apricot ($8.79 at Walgreens). The color brought my eye right to this product. It’s a bright coral thats wearable enough not to be intimidating. It comes in a cute little tube with an amazing applicator. I can’t wait to use this color dressed up and down. (swatch to right)

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Concealer in Ivory ($7.79 at Walgreens). I’ve tried this product multiple times and love it. This time I bought the lightest shade and plan on using it as a highlighter more so than a concealer. I totally recommend this for any concealing/highlighting you plan on doing.

ImageWet n Wild MegaSlicks Balm Stain in A Stiff Pink ($2.99 in store at Walgreens). I’ve seen this in almost every blog and YouTube video this month. I needed to try this and was so excited to get my hands on it. The color is so pretty and I can’t wait to see how well it works. Good or bad, you can’t beat the price (head to Walgreens… they all had a $1 off coupon attached to them). (swatch to left)

Maybelline Fit Me! Pressed Powder in Mocha ($7.49 at Walgreens). Yes, this is really dark. I know. I plan on using this as my new contour color. I’ve used this brand as my regular face powder and loved it so I thought it may work to contour too! I’ll let you know how that goes.

That’s all I got today! You will see all of these products in upcoming tutorials and reviews. If you have any requests please leave a comment! Also, let me know of any new drugstore products that you think I should try!

REVIEW: Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream

Image

I have tried Olay, Covergirl, and Maybelline BB creams and they have failed to please me. I finally found my favorite go-to product and it’s by Revlon ($10.99 at Walgreens).

I began using this BB cream as a primer under my regular foundation and soon realized that I didn’t need all of those layers, the BB cream with a powder is enough.

I have no bad things to say about this product. It has the best coverage (not too light not too dark), it a great consistency, and goes on smooth. I have replaced all of my liquid foundations with this coverage and I’m obsessed with it.Image

4.7 stars for this BB cream.

A tutorial using this product will be coming soon. In the meantime, don’t forgot to follow me on the side of this page!
